Automobili Lamborghini’s third vehicle in its supercar line-up and carving a whole new niche in the luxury segment as the first ever Super Sport Utility Vehicle, the Lamborghini Urus.
At a base price of £162,000 for the entry model, it goes up against rivals such as the Bentley Bentayga, Range Rover Sport SVR and the Mercedes-AMG G 63. A hot seller and with back orders of at least a few months, you’ll be well into 2019 before you can get your hands on a new one.
Urus
You’ll be forgiven for boyishly chuckling at a couple of bodily related puns that come to mind when hearing the name Urus, but it’s origin is derived from the world of bulls, a long standing tradition at Lamborghini and boldly portrayed in the company branding. The Urus, also known as Aurochs, is one of the large, wild ancestors of domestic cattle. The Spanish fighting bull, as bred for the past 500 years, is still very close to the Urus in its appearance.
Design

Powered by a 4.0 liter V8 twin-turbo engine producing 650 hp (478 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 850 Nm of maximum torque at 2,250 rpm, the Lamborghini Urus sprints from 0-62 mph in a mere 3.6 seconds thanks to its 4WD system with active torque vectoring; reaching a top speed of 190 mph it claims one of the highest specific power outputs in its class and the best weight-to-power ratio at 3,38 kg/hp.
The Urus fitted with four-wheel steering for perfect handling and carbon ceramic brakes, adaptive air suspension and active roll stabilization for maximum safety and comfort. Up to six different driving modes + EGO mode available via ‘Tamburo’ driving dynamics selector.
